On November 4th, the youth of Leadership Springfield Academy partook in the Education and Lifelong Learning day. I was lucky enough to serve on the team that planned the day’s events, and the experience is one that I’ll always cherish. Our team spent a few hours every Sunday for a month preparing and planning our day, and it came together really well. It was a unique experience to be able to connect with other students who are also leaders devoted to the Springfield community, and I also really enjoyed getting to know our advisors and how each of them impact our community in a different way. I think my favorite part of Leadership Springfield is learning about all the treasures Springfield has to offer that I often overlooked. I know that I learned about many of these treasures on the Education and Lifelong Learning day. Treasures such as the innumerable amenities the public library has to offer, the unique college atmosphere that makes up Springfield, and the multitude of learning opportunities Springfield exhibits around every corner. This experience has taught me a lot about the city I’ve lived in my whole life, and I can’t wait to discover what other treasures Springfield has to offer.
