Leadership Springfield announced Dr. Alina Lehnert as the recipient of the 2018
Kenworthy Award during its annual One Big Class Reunion event at The Old Glass Place on
Tuesday, June 12.
Alina has been a leader for the organization and in the community in numerous ways in recent years.
She is a graduate of Leadership Springfield Signature Class 23 and served six years on Leadership
Springfield’s Board of Directors, including a role as board president. During her time on the board, she
helped overhaul the curriculum across all of Leadership Springfield’s programming.
Alina has spent two decades studying human behavior, talent, and leadership. She founded Lehnert
Leadership Group LLC as a platform to inspire stronger individuals and organizations by facilitating
learning to maximize life and leadership. She earned her bachelor's degree in business administration
from Evangel University, master's degree from Missouri State University and doctoral degree from
She was elected to the Springfield Public Schools Board of Education in 2016. The Springfield
Business Journal honored her as a Most Influential Women recipient in 2014 and a 40 Under 40
finalist in 2009 for her professional and civic achievements. She has also been involved in the
Glendale PTSA and Basketball Boosters.
Alina lives in Springfield, Missouri with her husband, Darren and has two bonus sons.
The Kenworthy award was established in 1989 in memory of Franklin Kenworthy, a posthumous
graduate of Signature Class 3. Recipients must demonstrate a commitment to Leadership Springfield;
involvement in community service activities; good citizenship; outstanding leadership qualities; and
high moral and ethical standards.
