New Access Class Program Offers Crash Course in the Community
“The Access Class began as a new program delivery model after feedback from local employers, who requested a shorter course on our community to increase retention of new leaders and help more of their mid-level, high-level and licensed professionals better perform their jobs through increased awareness of Springfield. This new two day Access Class is a crash course in our community,” said Carrie Richardson, Executive Director.
The Access Class is not a competitive application-based program; it is a two-day education course offered quarterly. Registration for February and May classes is now open. Interested employers or individuals can contact the Leadership Springfield office at 417-986-2884 with questions or to sign up for the next class.
“The Access Class can also be an option for leaders who may not qualify for or do not have the time or financial resources to commit to the organization’s more intensive nine-month programs,” Richardson said.
As a member of the Association of Leadership Programs, Leadership Springfield offers leadership development and community exploration through several programs. These existing programs are all competitive and designed for leaders who have demonstrated commitment to professional development and motivation to serve the community.
The Signature Class is the organization’s flagship program, providing a nine-month intensive experience for emerging and established leaders each year. The Leadership Springfield Signature Class has been offered in the community for 34 years. Leadership Springfield doubled the capacity of the Signature Class several years ago and is currently accepting applications for the competitive program through Monday, April 1, 2019. The local nonprofit also runs the Leadership Springfield Academy program each year for area high school juniors, following a similar nine-month intensive model. The Academy program has been offered for 29 years. Six years ago, Leadership Springfield began a nine-month Principals of Leadership program and will graduate eight local principals this year from that program.
Leadership Springfield is the premier program for leadership development in the Ozarks, designed to inspire, develop and connect leaders to serve the Springfield community. Leadership Springfield’s programs give each participant a deeper understanding of the community and themselves. For more than three decades, Leadership Springfield has helped both emerging and established leaders take commitment to their community to a new level, connecting nearly 2,000 graduates with local opportunities, needs, problems and resources.
