This is a pivotal time in Leadership Springfield’s history. After three decades as a proud affiliate program of the Chamber, Leadership Springfield transitioned to a fully independent organization with employed staff this past July 2018. Leadership Springfield has been an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization with an independent board of directors since its inception in the 1980s. After many years of board-led strategic planning, nationwide leadership organization research and identification of opportunities for growth in our community, the Leadership Springfield board voted to implement a staff led, board supported structure that would start with three staff members directly employed by Leadership Springfield.
Executive Director, Carrie Richardson states, “We are continuing the longstanding tradition of leadership development excellence that Leadership Springfield has demonstrated in the community, scaling existing programs and growing new programs to meeting community needs.”
Leadership Springfield is the premier program for leadership development in the Ozarks, designed to inspire, develop and connect leaders to serve the Springfield community. Leadership Springfield’s programs give each participant a deeper understanding of the community and themselves. For more than three decades, Leadership Springfield has helped both emerging and established leaders take commitment to their community to a new level, connecting nearly 2,000 graduates with local opportunities, needs, problems and resources.
