Leadership Springfield has officially launched applications for our competitive leadership programs! Applications for Leadership Springfield’s Signature and Academy Class programs are live for the upcoming 2022-2023 program year. The two programs are highly competitive and only a limited number of applicants are selected for each class. Keep reading for more information about each program and the application process!

The Signature Class, sponsored by Mercy Springfield, is Leadership Springfield’s nationally recognized flagship program. Our flagship community leadership program is for Springfield region professionals of all ages and stages, unlocking leadership potential in our community and plugging in people to meet real needs in Springfield. For 37 years, the Signature Class has provided opportunities for leaders to gain a unique awareness of their own strengths, an unparalleled depth of community understanding, and motivating recognition that they can make an impact where their strengths, passions, and community needs meet.

Scholarships for the program are available and are awarded to a limited number of participants based on need and availability of funds. Course curriculum includes extensive personal and professional leadership development, an exploration of the Community Focus Report, and strengths-based leadership training. The Signature Class is a nine-month program, including two retreats and intensive day-long, once-a-month sessions.

The Leadership Springfield Academy Class is a community leadership program established in 1990 to help youth discover how to be more engaged citizens and develop as community leaders. The Academy Class program for high school juniors is a nine-month program where students explore their strengths, learn about the local community, and coordinate monthly program days where they get to see firsthand how leaders work together to structure and influence the community around them. Students will gain project management skills, leadership aptitude, and a newfound appreciation for the work that goes into making our community function.

This program is open to area high school students in their junior and senior years. Students interested in applying must be a current sophomore or junior attending public, private, or home school in the area, have a recommendation form completed, and be interested in furthering their knowledge about leadership.

The deadline to apply for both the Signature Class and Academy Class is Monday, March 28, 2022.
